One of my daily rituals is to Feed My Faith. For me, that means taking time every day to pause, read scripture, pray, and journal. It’s not just a religious practice — it’s about grounding myself in something bigger than my current challenges, and remembering that growth takes more than willpower. It takes perspective.
Over the past couple months, I’ve been through some real battles — emotionally, mentally, and professionally. What’s kept me anchored is consistency. My therapy journey taught me that the habits that carry you through recovery aren’t temporary — they become your lifestyle. Feeding my faith is one of those habits.
This week, I wanted to share a seven-day plan of scripture, prayer, and journal prompts that you can use to reflect, meditate, and reset your perspective.
Day 1 — Strength in Struggles
September 25, 2025
“The Lord hears me.”
Book: Psalm
ESV Section: Psalm 34:17–18
17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears
and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You hear me when I call out to You. Be near to me in my weaknesses and carry me through the troubles I face. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
These verses remind me that God isn’t distant. He hears every prayer—even the ones I can barely put into words.
When my heart feels broken or my spirit crushed, His nearness is what saves me. Deliverance doesn’t always mean the problem disappears right away, but it does mean I’m never abandoned in the struggle.
God is close to me right here, right now.
Day 2 — Peace Over Chaos
September 26, 2025
“Do not be anxious.”
Book: Matthew
ESV Section: Matthew 6:31–33
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
⸻
Prayer:
Father, thank You for knowing what I need even before I ask. Help me to put Your kingdom first and trust that You will provide everything else in Your time. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
Jesus reminds me here that anxiety often comes from focusing too much on what I don’t have. But God already knows my needs, and He is faithful to provide.
The call is simple but hard: seek Him first. When I fix my eyes on God and His ways, the other things in life begin to fall into place.
Peace comes from trust—not from having everything figured out.
Day 3 — Hope in the Future
September 27, 2025
“Rejoice in the Lord always.”
Book: Philippians
ESV Section: Philippians 4:4–5
4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.
5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that joy in You is always possible, no matter my circumstances. Teach me to rejoice in Your presence and let my gentleness reflect Your nearness. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
Paul writes these words from prison, which makes them so powerful. Joy doesn’t come from comfort or easy days—it comes from knowing the Lord is near.
To rejoice is a choice, a perspective shift that lifts my eyes from what’s wrong to who God is.
When I choose joy, others can see the calmness and steadiness of Christ in me, even in hard times.
Day 4 — Endurance Through Trials
September 28, 2025
“The Lord will fight for you.”
Book: Exodus
ESV Section: Exodus 14:14
14 The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.
⸻
Prayer:
Father, thank You that I don’t have to fight every battle on my own. Teach me to trust Your power, to rest in Your strength, and to be still as You work on my behalf. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
This verse reminds me that silence and stillness are not weakness—they are faith.
When Israel faced the Red Sea ahead and the Egyptian army behind, God reminded them that He would fight for them. My job is not to have all the solutions but to trust the One who holds the victory.
Sometimes the hardest step of faith is to stop striving and start resting in God’s strength.
Day 5 — Gratitude in the Present
September 29, 2025
“Be strong and courageous.”
Book: Joshua
ESV Section: Joshua 1:9
9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being with me wherever I go. Give me strength and courage when fear rises, and remind me that Your presence is my confidence. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
This verse shows me that courage isn’t about being fearless—it’s about knowing who goes with me.
Joshua faced overwhelming responsibility and uncertainty, but God’s promise was simple: “I am with you.”
That same promise holds for me today. My courage doesn’t come from my abilities but from God’s presence at my side.
Day 6 — Courage Over Fear
September 30, 2025
“The Lord is my light and salvation.”
Book: Psalm
ESV Section: Psalm 27:1
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?
⸻
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being my light in dark places and my salvation in every trial. Drive out my fears and remind me that my life is secure in You. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
David’s words are bold because they come from trust. When God is my light, I don’t have to walk in confusion. When He is my salvation, I know I’m safe. When He is my stronghold, fear loses its grip.
This verse reminds me that fear shrinks when I see who God is. He is greater than anything I face.
Day 7 — Rest in His Presence
October 1, 2025
“His mercies are new every morning.”
Book: Lamentations
ESV Section: Lamentations 3:22–23
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
⸻
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your love never runs out. Each morning You give me fresh mercy and new strength. Help me rest in Your faithfulness today. Amen.
⸻
Journal:
These verses remind me that no matter how yesterday went, God gives me a new start today. His mercy doesn’t expire, and His faithfulness doesn’t weaken.
Each morning is like a reset button, not because life is easy, but because His love is constant. My hope is not in my ability to be perfect but in His mercy that never ends.
Closing Thought
Consistency isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up every day and feeding the part of yourself that keeps you grounded. These scriptures, prayers, and journal prompts are one way I practice my daily ritual of faith. They help me reset, regain perspective, and remember that healing and growth don’t come overnight — they come one step, one habit, one day at a time.
