Momentum Over Perfection — building forward, one step at a time.

Build The Basics Of IT Support: Part 2
This week reminded me that striving to be my best isn’t about perfection — it’s about momentum. Between moving, packing, and cleaning, I didn’t hit every ritual on time. But instead of giving up, I tracked what slipped, caught back up by Friday, and proved the plan is flexible enough to handle real life. Falling behind doesn’t mean falling off — as long as you recalibrate and finish strong, you’re still building forward.
From Warehouse To Restaurant Systems
I didn’t land in IT overnight. Before managing restaurant systems, I spent time working in warehouses, staging point-of-sale equipment, and learning the value of persistence. My journey took me from Georgia Southern University to HonorBuilt, where I configured systems for major restaurant brands, to NCR, and now to Jim ’N Nick’s Bar-B-Q as Manager of Restaurant Systems. Along the way, I learned that success in IT isn’t always a straight line — it’s built one opportunity, one skill, and one relationship at a time.

Staying Focused, Even in a Busy Week
This week reminded me that striving to be my best isn’t about perfection — it’s about momentum. Between moving, packing, and cleaning, I didn’t hit every ritual on time. Resources: Digital Tools to Catch Up on Missed Tasks
Falling behind doesn’t mean falling off — but you need a system that helps you catch up without losing track. Here are three digital tools that can make staying on top of rituals easier:
- Todoist / Microsoft To Do / Google Tasks → Simple, clean task managers. You can set rituals as recurring tasks, reschedule missed ones, and keep your week organized without paper clutter.
- Notion → Perfect if you like structure and flexibility. Create a ritual tracker with daily checkboxes, and let missed tasks “roll forward” until you clear them.
- Trello → Great for visual thinkers. Make a board for your rituals, and drag missed ones into a “Catch Up” column until they’re done.
Each of these tools helps you stay accountable in real time, so missed tasks don’t pile up or get forgotten. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s momentum.
Motivation Moment
Momentum beats perfection every time. One perfect day won’t change your life, but a week of showing up — even imperfectly — will. When things get messy, remind yourself: forward is forward, no matter the pace.
Closing Thoughts
This week stretched me, but it also reminded me why I built this plan in the first place. Life isn’t always neat, and progress doesn’t always look polished. What matters is staying accountable, finishing strong, and remembering that I’m the one running the plan — not the other way around.
Here’s to another week of building forward, with momentum on our side.
