Day 37 – Showing Up While Tired

How am I feeling right now?

Right now, I’m tired.

Coming off the weekend, my sleep schedule always needs some adjustment. I actually caught myself starting to fall asleep while watching YouTube.

Even so, I knew I still needed to complete my daily tasks—including exercising. So here I am, doing stairs while writing this journal entry.

And yes… I’m definitely tired.

How did I approach today?

I think I showed up well today.

I stayed productive at work and remained focused for most of the day. Looking back, I’m proud that I continued working through my responsibilities even though I wasn’t feeling fully rested.

What is one thing I completed today?

One thing I completed today was helping troubleshoot a terminal at our Charlotte Pike location.

It only took about a minute to identify what the issue might be, and from there I was able to recommend the appropriate solution.

Additional Reflection

Lately, I’ve been wishing I could get my balance issues under control.

I want to continue my balance exercises, and I know I also need to schedule a medical checkup. It has been about eight years since I first experienced vertigo. There have been long stretches where it barely affected me, but there have also been seasons when it returned.

Living with both vertigo and health anxiety is a difficult combination.

One thing I’ve realized is that I’m caught between two fears. I worry about my health, yet I also feel nervous about going to the one place that can provide answers.

As much as I worry about what might be wrong, I think what I’m really afraid of is hearing bad news.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear. Sometimes it’s simply choosing to seek answers despite it.
